The Dawnview Park Children's home is one of
five homes that Horizon sponsors in Harare and surrounding
suburbs. Thanks to our donors, we have been able to
refurbish this home by strengthening it's walls, putting
on a new roof, and installing new electrical wiring
and plumbing. We have also purchased beds for the children
and other furnishings.

Cinderblock
Fence—$5,000
We need to build a cinderblock wall around this property
for the safety of the children. The home is located
on a busy street, and the government is requiring
the building of a security wall to provide safety for
the little ones playing in the yard.
Ceiling—$3,500
We need to install a new rhinoset ceiling
in the Dawnview Park home (the old ceiling was removed
when the new roof was replaced).
Covered
Patio—$3,500
We also need a covered assembly area at
the rear of the house where the children can eat and
study regardless of the weather. Horizon is seeking
funds to complete this project. Completion of this
work allows us to focus on Mt. Darwin projects.

The
school at Chesa |
|
Northern Zimbabwe
The Parent's Association in Chesa Township
near Mt. Darwin has donated to Horizon 50 acres of land
on which an elementary school is situated. There are
six school buildings on the property, each containing
three classrooms, as well as six teacher's residences.
The buildings are all in need of renovation. Horizon
plans on building dormitories on the property so that
the many orphans in the region can live in close proximity
to the school.
