2009 African Pastor’s Conferences

Horizon International will be hosting a Pastor’s Conference for 150 ministers of Eternal Word congregations from Harare and MaShonaland in eastern Zimbabwe.

The purposes of the Pastor’s Conference are to:

• EQUIP those who are responsible for the spiritual nurture of the congregations where Horizon-sponsored orphans attend.
  
  
• ORGANIZE pastoral clusters within predetermined regions for ongoing mentoring.
  
  
• FACILITATE effective orphan care ministries in local villages through a strategic partnership with pastoral clusters and the Christian congregations represented in the clusters.

Horizon began partnering with Eternal Word Ministries in 2002 when there was a total of 30 congregations.  Now there are 150 churches, and the goal in 2008 is to plant an additional 80 congregations.

One of the key growth factors for Eternal Word has been its ministry to AIDS orphans and their caregivers through Horizon. 

We are pleased to partner with Eternal Word Ministries in the training of congregational leaders through the Harare Pastor’s Conference.
