Horizon’s staff is pleased to announce that 1,807 African children were sponsored through the end of 2011, a high for our eleven-year history.
This was made possible because of the generosity of our child sponsors.
On December 20, we received a call from a 98-year old sponsor who wanted to know some information about his child. He then explained that his wife had suffered a stroke last February, and the medical bills were taking a toll on his finances. Yet he said that he knew God would bless them and make it possible for them to continue their sponsorship.
That same day, another woman called and explained that she and her husband had to drop their sponsorship back in 2008. When she heard about some children who had been deactivated, she went to the Horizon website and saw the child named Clifford that they had previously sponsored. She signed up and sponsored him once again.
It is this kind of dedication and sacrifice that has made it possible for us to attain this achievement.
